Peter has worked alongside master craftspeople from many trades around the country, and these experiences have made a lasting impression.
His paintings try to tell their stories as they work in their own unique environments, demonstrating skills that are often increasingly uncommon.
Another passion is recording nature in all its varied forms, from miniature floral landscapes at ground level to the ever-changing Lakeland fells, seascapes and associated wild life.
One constant feature in all his studies is attention to detail, and trying to meet the challenge presented by each composition in recording that first visual impression.
Peter works from his home studio in the South Lakes, mainly in oil on wooden panels, with some preliminary sketches drawn in pastel.
