Janet is recognised for her highly individual and distinctive watercolours, happily moving between Cityscape & Landscape and embracing the challenges each subject brings.
For Janet, her watercolours, revolve around the capturing of natural & artificial light with it’s ever changing mood & intensity and the way it interacts with the landscape, whether it’s manipulated by the man made structures of our cities or the wild open spaces of our natural landscape, alongside the unexpected perspective and sense of space, that ignites her imagination.
Her experimental use of watercolour to create mood and texture continued to push the boundaries of this very difficult but exciting medium.
My aim, in watercolour, is to capture a moment, by the use of colour & exploration of light & texture and to continue to draw inspiration from ever changing world around us.
