David Cemmick

David is a sculptor and painter, his chosen medium guided by the journey during each project. Sculptures are mainly clay masters cast in bronze and paintings oil or watercolour.

His latest body of sculpture uses recycled paper packaging and scientific papers from the British Antarctic Survey archive to create lacquered and laminated life-sized animals.

The use of fragile paper to produce powerful animal representations mirrors how David sees nature, a delicate balance between vulnerability and durability. The power of nature.

Passionate about wildlife and the natural world, David is privileged to have worked alongside many conservation bodies around the globe during his four decades as a freelance artist.

His many field expeditions have inspired and informed his working practice.

He is a watcher of people and nature, a lover of line, drawing inspiration from the world around him.
