It was Angie Mitchell’s ambition as a student at Charlotte Mason College under the tutorage of Henry Almond ( president of LAS 1971 -77) to become a member of the Lake Artists society.
It was achieved many years later after bringing up her family, 25 years of teaching and developing her skills in ceramics, printmaking and painting. She has a passion and love for wildlife and wild places. Much of her work is inspired by visits to Scottish Islands and of the beautiful area in which she lives and also
her allotment which she tends when not engaged in travels with her partner Hugh. Sketching is a very important element of her practice, often making sketchbooks for particular places and expeditions.
