Graham Twyford

Elected to the Society 1984

Graham Twyford trained at Goldsmith’s College, London, graduating in 1979 with BA (Hons) Fine Art. In the 1990’s he designed and illustrated for Wedgwood, Danbury Mint, Bradford Exchange and Royal Worcester. Graham has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute (Oil Painters) and his work is reproduced worldwide.

Graham works in most painting and graphic media, with oil painting forming the major part of his output. Landscape features largely in this work, interspersed with imaginative invention/illustration. Taking influences from American and British landscape traditions such as the Luminists and Hudson River School, he applies similar working methods in a response to diverse Lake District environs. Related to the landscape work is an ongoing series of  paintings inspired by evening light in Lakeland centres and towns throughout Britain.
