Elected to the Society 1989
Born in Bradford, Elizabeth Wood studied at Leeds College of Art. She was a visiting lecturer at Blackpool & Fylde College of Higher Education, and curator at Grundy House Museum & Art Gallery from 1964 to 1984.
Her professional career has been that of Exhibition Organiser and Gallery Curator, whilst continuing her work as a painter and Visiting Lecturer at Art Colleges. She is a painter in the broad sense but, because her subjects are mainly people she is classified primarily as a Portrait Painter. She has exhibited widely and has work in many Public and Private collections in this country and abroad.
