The Society is continuing with its programme of awards, the object being to encourage and reward excellence and innovation in both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media.

Non-members successful in having work selected for the Summer Exhibition will automatically be considered for the following awards:

  • Award for work on paper sponsored by Kent Valley Colour Printers, Kendal – £150 cheque
  • The Ophelia Gordon Bell Award: an award for sculpture,  jointly sponsored by
    Lakeland Mouldings and The Heaton Cooper Studio – £150 vouchers
  • Award for work in oil or acrylic sponsored by Youdells – £50 vouchers
  • The Friends of the Lake District for The Most Captivating Lakeland Landscape – £150
  • Peter Tyson award for young person working figuratively in any medium 25 and under – £200 cheque
  • The Castlegate Gallery Award…for the most outstanding piece in the exhibition – £300
  • The Northern Lights Gallery  Peoples Choice Award…for the most popular piece in the exhibition. Voted for by the public – £125

Winners will be informed as soon as possible after judging. Prizes will be awarded during the Members’ evening at The Hall, Grasmere.
