Yorkshire born artist, Phil Hobbs has lived and worked in The English Lake District for over 40 years. Working predominantly in pure watercolour he has participated in many national exhibitions and had a number of solo shows in the UK, USA and Europe. He has contributed articles to many of the national and international art magazines and tutored workshops in this country and abroad. His time more recently is divided between painting in the UK and Italy. He is a past President and Honorary life member of The Lake Artists Society.

In  2015 The Ambleside based Hobbs Gallery that for 30 years housed an ever changing collection of paintings by Phil Hobbs, finally moved from Church Street to become the Studio Gallery at The Copse, Troutbeck Bridge.

As well as continuing the tradition of bi-annual, often themed exhibitions, the showroom provides a relaxing room setting, where visitors are more than welcome to call, view and discuss works, just give us a call or email to check that we are here and to arrange a convenient time.

For further details of all Phil Hobbs workshops paintings and publications, including his recently published book ‘Venice A Watercolour Journey’ please contact the studio or visit the website.
